When we take a liking to critters - they seem to get a little scared. Take salmon for example. Salmon don't think too much good comes from us liking them.
But, I don't think these weedy creatures have too much to worry about from us bears. They live in a glass house in Monterey, California at the Monterey Bay aquarium. We wanted to pass on our congratulations to this proud weedy sea dragon papa who raised a whole passle of babies. Proud Sea Dragon Papa
I thought it would be a nice idea if I (Thornfield) offered some brief profiles of some of the bears who live at Thornfield Manor or at Schloss Grenliksen. Later, I'll profile some of the other animals, too.
Brown Eyes is the Senior Bear. He's been here since 1987, longer than pretty much all of us. Brown Eyes is a well-traveled bear. He has been to Turkey, Germany, and England, and of course all over the United States. He especially loves camping.
Brown Eyes says the reason most bears don't have any money is that they don't have pockets. He feels lucky that he has a nice pair of overalls, where he keeps his money. The little guy is rich, actually - it started with a single dollar from Sally Balakrishnan, but now there are tens and twenties in the roll.
There is a TV show called Downton Abbey, about life at a great English estate. Many of our readers have asked about the staff at Thornfield Manor, so I thought I would give you a brief rundown. Later, we shall add pictures.
Rodney is the butler.
Alfie is the senior footman.
Oscar is the doorman, assisted by McCulloch.
Eloise and Petra are the housekeeping staff.
Johnson assists as butler, doorman, or footman, as required by the occasion.
Bucher runs a school on the manor grounds, for all the staff's children and some of the creatures from the estate.
